FACT 1
|
|
Mice
and rats have teeth which are as strong as steel. These rodents
can chew through insulated wires and various utility pipes causing
electrical equipment to short circuit. This gnawing activity
has created explosions, indoor flooding, fires, equipment malfunctions
and power shortages. Mice and rats can shut down complex computer
systems by simply gnawing through wires, nesting or excreting
wastes inside of equipment. |

FACT 2
|
|
Mice and rats attack cereal grains,
meats, sweet liquids, fish and food in household garbage. What
the rodents don't eat, they spoil by contaminating the remainder
with their urine, feces, and fur. |

Mice and rats destroy buildings
by gnawing on doors, floors, ceilings, and walls |

Researchers at John Hopkins University
have linked rodent urine as a cause of asthma! Since rodents
live and travel through sewers and garbage, these pests can
transmit human and animal diseases. If rodent-management programs
are not established, the potential for disease outbreaks exist.
Rats have transmitted plague, food poisoning, Rat-Bite Fever
and Leptospirosis, while mice have transmitted Rickettsial Pox,
food poisoning, and Rat-Bite Fever to people. |
